Georgina isn’t just a great place to live; it’s also a great place to build sandcastles. Its 52 kilometres (32 miles) of shoreline includes numerous beaches to let you channel your internal architect, or just swim in the pristine waters of Lake Simcoe. Georgina Community Maps has published an excellent map detailing the position of many of the area’s beaches in addition to other sites of historic and cultural interest. As a public service, York Region tests many of the public beaches in the Georgina, Keswick and Sutton area twice a week throughout the summer months. The following is a list of some of the more prominent beaches:
Balfour Beach Claredon Beach De La Salle Beach Franklin Beach Holmes Point Island Grove Jackson's Point Beach Keswick Beach (Church St.) North Gwillimbury Park Paradise/Willow Beach Parkwood Crescent Beach (South Keswick – Glenwoods) Peninsula Motel Port Bolster Beach
Georgina is blessed with many municipal parks, regardless of whether you are looking for playground adventure or a quiet picnic spot. We also enjoy having in our midst parks dedicated to the preservation of ecological diversity unique to Lake Simcoe. For example, Duclos Point is a Park Preserve and is home to Black Ash, Silver Maple, cattails, bulrushes, wild rice, and small pockets of thicket swamp sheltering birds such as the Marsh Wren, Osprey and Caspian Tern. It also boasts an extensive offshore sandbar.
Sibbald Point Provincial Park is the grand-daddy of local parks. Boasting a full complement of services, its visitors enjoy its long sandy beaches, choice campsites, extensive grassy picnic areas and forested hiking trails. The Park is situated on land owned by the Sibbald family for 130 years before being sold to the County of York in 1951. The Park maintains Eildon Hall, the original Sibbald family estate, built as the brainchild of Susan Sibbald, and now a museum documenting 19th century rural Ontario life. Just outside and handy to the Park is St. George's Anglican Church. Built by Susan Sibbald's sons, it was completed in 1877, and serves the community to this day. Attached to the church is a small cemetery which contains the graves of many prominent citizens of the Lake Simcoe area including writers Stephen Leacock and Mazo de la Roche. Sibbald is very popular - patrons wishing to camp are urged to visit Ontario Parks to book in advance. Day visitors are always welcome.

Real Estate Contracts >Sales Contracts
The purchase or sale of a home is one of the most complicated business transactions most people will be involved in during their lifetime. Whether the print is large or small, there is a lot of it! The purchase agreement covers not only the price of the property, but has many paragraphs governing the terms under which it will be conveyed to the new owners.
When you list your home for sale or when you begin your search for a new home, ask your real estate agent for a copy of the standard sales agreement. Familiarize yourself with the document ahead of time, and make certain you understand the responsibilities of both parties between the initial meeting of the minds and the closing date. You should be aware of all of the deadlines in the purchase agreement. Each contract is different, but there are usually time limits covering the structural contingency, the financing application, the loan commitment, and the closing.
You greatly increase the chances of a smooth transaction by being fully informed about the sales contract.
