it's in the bag!

It was only a few years ago when Team Peroff had decided to begin a crusade to raise food for the Georgina Community Food Pantry. Ever since their first in the Bag food drive, it has become a great success. Twice a year, once in the summer and again in the fall, Team Peroff take 2 weeks out of their schedules to walk the streets of chosen communities throughout Georgina to deliver the iconic brown paper bag with the 'It's in the Bag' flyer attached. This summer will be the 4th semi-annual food drive, and they have chosen to team up with communities in Sutton to help fill the shelves at the Food Pantry.

Being the Food Pantry's home, Sutton is the perfect area to gather donations. The kind and generous folks of Sutton would be very familiar with the

Team Peroff has served the Georgina community since 1989, and has always felt the need to not only support the local community, but the serve them as well. When an opportunity comes knocking for the team to help make a difference, they are quick to jump on board to help make things a little easier for everyone else.

Over the course of the many years they have served this community, they have built a lot of fantastic relationships with local organizations. This year we wanted to send a special thank you to all of our clients for their business and partnering with us to support the local community. It is our privilege to be able to help those in need, and to make Georgina a better place to live for all of us!

Every year, Team Peroff makes it an obligation to give back to the community they have so proudly called home since 1989. Whether it is sponsoring minor sports teams, donating to the Community Food Pantry, or sponsoring the Santa Claus Parade, Team Peroff wants to make life just a bit easier for everyone in the community.

For the past few years, Team Peroff has donated 6 Holiday Turkeys to the Georgina Care’s Live TV Auction in an attempt to make 6 families lives just that much easier during the holidays. The Georgina Cares Fund has been around for 20 years, and was first created to lend a helping hand to those in need within the community. The foundation, along with Shaw Cable (Rogers TV) created a live TV auction to help fund the charity for

The Sutton Fair is an annual event in the town of Sutton, Georgina, that’s become an institution in this community for the last 160 years! What began as a one-day annual fair in October quickly grew to a two-day event by 1857 with a 25 cent dinner each night at the Sheppard’s Hotel, where the day’s winners were announced. October, being an unstable month, weather-wise, forced the Sutton Agricultural Society to change the fair dates to September 24th and 25th by 1889.history01[1]

Today, the Sutton Fair and Horse Show takes place in the lazy, hazy days of August. As the fair celebrates its 160th Anniversary (and 4H celebrates 100 years in Ontario!), it’s hard not to think about all the years gone by. The persistence and hard work of

DSC_0046 (2)Every single one of us is capable of making a difference on this planet. Whether we give money or donate clothing, volunteer at a local seniors’ home or sponsor a child overseas. Perhaps you help out an elderly neighbor regularly with chores and errands. Perhaps you keep an eye out on the children in your neighbourhood as they play. It all matters. It all counts.

As a family and as a team, we have always and will continue to focus our energy locally. We believe in our community here in Georgina and remain invested in its growth and prosperity.

But we have also set our sights globally.

Since 2009, my wife Colleen and I have also been involved in the building of the “Baba Nyumbani” orphanage in Kenya.  “Baba Nyumbani “(meaning
